Mark Smith is a seasoned entrepreneur with over three decades of experience, beginning his career in the Occupational Health industry as an ergonomist with Business Health Services. By age 30, he launched his first company, which he sold before turning 40. Mark’s career has been defined by his commitment to helping small businesses in industries often dominated by large institutions, specifically within workers’ compensation and insurance.

His leadership philosophy emphasizes vision and resource stewardship, with a focus on creating innovative models that support smaller employers. Mark’s personal journey, including his reconnection with faith, informs his approach to business and leadership. Under his guidance, Safe Harbor is poised to reshape the workers’ compensation landscape, making it more equitable for small businesses.

Kenna Smith

COO & Co-Founder

Kenna Smith is an accomplished operations leader with over 25 years in the software and technology sector. With a background in psychology and certifications such as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Kenna specializes in building cohesive, high-performing teams. Her leadership focuses on aligning people, processes, and purpose to achieve operational excellence.

As Chief Operating Officer at Safe Harbor, Kenna drives the company’s operational strategies, ensuring efficient, scalable, and innovative service delivery. She believes in creating a positive work environment based on integrity, communication, and kindness. Her international experience and passion for continuous learning further enhance her ability to lead diverse teams effectively. Outside of work, Kenna enjoys balancing her professional life with her family, cherishing her role as a mother and grandmother to 14 grandchildren.

Cameron Keeney

CSO & Co-Founder

Cameron Keeney is a seasoned safety executive with over a decade of experience in the oil and gas industry. His passion for workplace safety stems from personal injury, which shifted his career focus toward protecting workers and improving safety protocols.Cameron’s leadership played a pivotal role in growing Fort Berthold Services from a single rig operation to eight rigs, driving revenues to $12 million.

As Chief Safety Officer at Safe Harbor, Cameron leverages his hands-on experience and strategic approach to create innovative safety solutions. He excels in case management, ensuring employees receive the care they need while maintaining their connection to the team. Cameron’s leadership style emphasizes accountability, trust, and continuous improvement, with a commitment to servant leadership.

Outside of work, Cameron is passionate about sports, especially baseball, which he played at the college level. He enjoys balancing his work ethic with hobbies like golf, hunting, and spending quality time with his family. His dedication to safety, combined with his strategic thinking and personal experience, makes him an invaluable leader at Safe Harbor.

John Turner

CCO & Co-Founder

John Turner is the Chief Commercial Officer at Safe Harbor, bringing over 30 years of experience across software, oil and gas, healthcare, and digital transformation. His career reflects a unique blend of entrepreneurship and corporate leadership, driving business growth and innovation in diverse industries.

Starting his career with ventures in sports concession and restaurants, John has since held executive roles where he excelled in sales, marketing, and team leadership. His expertise spans software sales, oil and gas operations, and healthcare market development. At Safe Harbor, John plays a key role in shaping long-term strategies and building systems for sustained success.

John is known for his strategic foresight, belief in the psychology of sales, and passion for leadership development. He fosters an environment that emphasizes personal growth and team excellence, inspiring both colleagues and clients to reach their highest potential.
